Wells home matches are played at either the Portway Ground, next to the clubhouse, or at the Blue School rugby pitches.
Portway Ground and Clubhouse
Take the A371 Portway road toward Wookey and Chedder. Turn right into Charter Way, which is signposted to the ‘Leisure Centre’, and take the 4th turning to the right, also signposted to the ‘Leisure Centre’. The Rugby Clubhouse is directly ahead, with the Leisure Centre on the left and the rugby pitches on the right. Click here for a map.
Coxley Pitch
Thanks to the kind local residents, the Youth section now has the use of a pitch at Coxley. The pitch is in Mill Lane. Take the Glastonbury Road out of Wells and as you enter Coxley you will see the Riverside Indian Restaurant on the right. Mill Lane is immediatly right after the restaurant, and the pitches are 50 yards on the left. There is a small parking area beside the pitch, and we have been offered the use of the restaurants carpark. Please be considerate of others when parking. Note also that there are at present no toilet facilities at Coxley. After the matches, showers and lunch are provided for all players back at the Wells Clubhouse, where parents may also enjoy some after match hospitality.
Wells Blue School Pitches
Some Youth matches are played on pitches at the Wells Blue School. From the clubhouse, return to the Portway, turning East and continuing through the traffic lights where it becomes the A39. Continue through three more traffic lights, turning left immediatly after the last set into Milton Lane. About 100 yards on the left is the entrance to the Blue School playing fields. Please park as directed by marshals, and definitely not on the grass. Further parking can be found on the other side of A39. Click here for a map.
