How to register New Junior Players

Junior players include all players under the age of 18 on 1st September.

All registrations are now done online using the Club's website as a gateway to the RFU's registration system. Parents register new Junior Players themselves.

The process will vary slightly, depending whether or not the parent is an existing member of Wells Rugby Club. Choose one of the two sections below, depending upon your status.

Parent is an existing member or parent at Wells RFC

If you are already a member of Wells RFC, or have children already playing at Wells RFC, then you should already have an account on the RFU system. You should be receiving emails from the Club which are sent by this system. At the bottom of these emails is your Username. You will need this Username to log into the system.

If you don't have a Username, or are not receiving emails from the Club, your email address may be incorrectly recorded in the system. Contact the Club's Honorary Secretary. You can email him from the Contacts page.

If you have your Username, then follow these simple steps:

  1. Click here to go to the RFU's GMS system logon page.
  2. Enter your username and password if you know it. If you dont know your password, click the red Forgot Password and follow instructions to set a password.
  3. Once you have logged in, you will be presented with a choice of family members and membership options. Select each family member, and then the required membership option and add it to the Basket.
  4. If you have a new member of the family to add, select one of the Add New Adult or Add New Youth buttons at the top right and complete the required information. Then select the appropriate membership and add to the basket.
  5. Once you have added all required memberships to the basket, proceed to the Checkout and pay.

Which Memberships should you choose?

Parents should choose the free Parent Affilliate, unless they are playing or coaching. If the parent is not offered the Parent Affilliate, it will be because you do not have a birthdate registered in the system. See below for instructions.

For all players under 18 years of age, including Colts, please choose Junior Player membership.

Parent is not an existing member of Wells RFC

If you are coming to Wells from another club, then the RFU system login will not work for you. Currently the only way to move membership from another club is to contact the Wells Membership Secretary, David Maxwell, who can be found at the club most Saurdays and Sunday Mornings.

If you are a new parent at Wells RFC, and are not coming from a previous club, then you may still use the new Age Grade Registration process to register both parents and all Junior Players in the family from the convenience of the home computer or laptop.

Before starting, it is recommended that you have access to passport style photos of each person, as well as the name and postcode of the schools currently attended.

If you have your Username, then follow these simple steps:

  1. Click here to open a window to start creating an account.
  2. Once you have set up an account, you will be able to set up accounts for each parent and any Junior Players. Simply follow the instructions and complete the forms.
  3. Please remember to provide a passport style photo of each player.
  4. As you progress through the dialogues you will also be able to select relevant membership options (see below) and eventually pay for membership.

Which Memberships should you choose?

Parents should choose the free Parent Affilliate, unless they are playing or coaching. If this does not appear, it is because the parent does not have a birthdate registered in the system. See below for instructions.

For all players under 18 years of age, including Colts, please choose Junior Player membership.

No Birthdate?

If you have no birthdate, then the system cannot tell what membership options to offer. You must supply a date of birth.

Click the Personal Details link near the top of the screen to display your details, then click the small pencil icon to edit the record. Locate the section with the date of bith and click the pencil to edit that section and supply the date of birth. Then hit enter to save. Reselect the Personal Details to again supply your details before clicking the red Buy Membership button.

Still stuck?

If you are still unable to navigate the process, please Contact the Club's Honorary Secretary. You can email him from the Contacts page.
