The RFU has released a new eLearning module "Introduction to Safeguarding". The Club is encouraging all coaches, first aiders and team managers to complete the training. It is a mandatory prerequesite for anybody requiring a DBS check. If your DBS is due for renewal, please take the training as soon as possible.

The course is free, and takes about 30 - 40 minutes to complete. There is a test at the end.

To take the training, click the link at the bottom of this article, then sign in to GMS. You will be taken to a special page dedicated to requesting this training. Request the training, and proceed to the checkout. As it is free, just continue through the checkout phase. Note that the training is not accessible through GMS unless you sign in through the link below.

You will then receive an email a short time after with a link which is personal to you. Click the link and you will be able to start the training.

If you complete the training successfully (pass mark is 70%) your qualifications will be updated in GMS. It says this takes 2 - 3 weeks, but lets hope it is quicker. Only once the Safeguarding Officers can see that you have obtained the qualification can they submit a new DBS request.

Here is the link. Enjoy the training.
