It is with great sadness that the club must announce that Richard Draper, club stalwart and former Chairman (1973-1986) and President (1986-2012) sadly passed away peacefully on Saturday 9th September.
Richard had a long association with the club having represented the club formerly known as Mendip RFC prior to being renamed Wells RFC and then later gave 50 years as an administrator of the club.
Richard was an ever present supporter travelling home and away to support the players and his absence from the touchline and bar will undoubtably be felt by all the players and supporters.
Wells RFC would like to express their heart felt condolences to Richard's wife Nicole and family.
Details of Richard's funeral for those who wish to pay their respects - the funeral will be held at St Thomas Church, St Thomas Street, Wells on Wednesday 4th October at 1.30pm.
