Welcome To Wells Rugby Junior Colts

Welcome to Wells Junior Colts, a side that has been merged between the U/17’s and U/18’s where numbers in previous seasons have been at times low. Registered players at the start of previous seasons have been encouraging, but on a weekly basis have not always come to fruition.

With the 2 age groups coming together, areas of weakness have melded together to complete a positive side with all aspects covered to good effect. This season will be a learning curve for this side, but one that will be taken on board very quickly and will benefit from this structured season.

12 Junior colts fixtures will form the backbone to our season, combined with Friendly fixtures for the U/17’s, and thus allowing U/18 players to be released to play Senior fixtures on a Saturday afternoon in the development of their ability. I believe every player will benefit from this format, and will be allowed to play at a level they can feel comfortable with and at times be tested.

I am pleased to announce that Tom Mather will lead the side this season, and with the support of Pack Leader Sam Whitcombe they will both instill a fierce sense of pride in to this unit.

I am ably supported this season by Liam White and also when back from injury Andy Perrin. Both these guys are a real asset to our team, Liam with the backs and Andy will support with the forwards, both bringing fresh ideas and different aspects to the modern game. Thanks go to these guys.
